Now that I have gotten past the awfulness that is known as "Dead Week", I can finally enjoy the start of the Christmas season! I loaded up my iPod with Christmas music this morning; biking to class while listening to the score from the Nutcracker was divine. Also, I am totally digging the christmas bells on campus. Every year it catches me by surprise. When it is really quiet at home I can hear them, and I try to pick out what song it is. I love Christmas!
So, I definitely have the best bosses ever. I came up to my office this afternoon to find my desk completely covered in stuff - some of it work related, but a lot of it fun stuff! Britton left me a Pink Lady apple (yum!) and the rest of the box of cookies from her class today. I'm talking like two dozen various Christmas cookies from the best bakery in Tulsa. Heck yes! And then Joye gave me a Christmas mug full of Reese's and a little potted poinsetta! So pretty!
Well, school craziness has subsided for a few days (at least until Sunday), but life is still super busy! I'm going to FOUR Christmas parties between Friday-Tuesday, and I am hosting two of them. I have a lot of cleaning, baking, and decorating to do, so my parents are coming up tonight to help. They are the best. Isaac does have a lot of homework (papers) left, poor thing. But it will be over soon!
On another front: God is breaking me, and I think he's preparing to do a big work in me pretty soon. It hurts, let me tell you, but it feels so good at the same time. It feels good just to feel something from him, you know? I feel like I've been so busy just trying to keep up with life that I've become kind of numb to anything spiritual... Yeah, not any more. I am so emotional today, I almost lost it while listening to Third Day's "Merry Christmas" - which is like the only good sappy Christmas song I've ever heard. Anyway, that has more to do with me being tired and hormonal... but the point is, no matter how much it hurts, I'd rather feel than be numb.
I think that Pink Lady apple is calling my name...
